More than 20 years after twice conquering Mike Tyson in the boxing ring, heavyweight legend Evander Holyfield wants to again throw punches at 'The Baddest Man on the Planet'.

The long-retired superstars are 54 and 58 respectively, but Holyfield believes a trilogy fight could be worth more than $259 million.

Holyfield has been triggered by Tyson's exhibition clash with Roy Jones Jr in November, which saw 'Iron Mike' accept a draw despite having looked the better fighter.

Holyfield said discussions between his team and Tyson's management were underway.

"What I can tell you is that my team is talking to Mike's management, so I'm waiting for a decision. They are communicating right now," Holyfield told SunSport.

"The thing is I'm still training for this, I know it will be some day this deal will happen and I'm ready for him. I'm doing OK."

Holyfield last week posted a photo of his current shape to Instagram showing he was in an impeccable condition, with a caption that read: "Feeling strong, motivated and focused at the start of the new year."

Holyfield said a trilogy fight could draw an enormous amount of money for charity.

"My views are you always help people," he told SunSport.

"I try to pass on the goodness that was passed onto me.

"Where an opportunity is available, I like to make the best out of what I have.

"I believe if I fought Mike the fight will generate $200 million [US].

"It will be the biggest fight there is. That's the honest truth.

"I think Mike has my message already. If he is going to do it he is, if not then he's not.

"It's a decision he has to make now and we both have to be in an agreement."
