Yorkshire decline to run out hurt batsman during Vitality Blast T20 match in England
Yorkshire delivered a nice moment of sportsmanship when they declined to run out Lancashire batsman Steven Croft after he was hurt during a botched single.
Croft was batting with Luke Wells during a Vitality Blast T20 match. Lancashire needed 15 runs more to win when Croft hesitated on a quick single and went down with what appeared to be a painful cramp.
Rather than run out Croft, Yorkshire - captained by England Test skipper Joe Root - let the opportunity pass and instead saw to the batsman's welfare. A dead ball was called.
"Yorkshire would be well within their rights to remove the bails here, it has to be said," former England player Mark Butcher said on commentary.
"He hesitates and slips - that's why I think you'd be well within your rights to run him out."

Lancashire held Yorkshire to 8-127 and reached the target with an over to spare. Croft made 26 not out.
Lancashire are now into the tournament's quarter-finals, as are Yorkshire.
