England's Tammy Beaumont forges all-time innings as Aussie openers hold strong
England opener Tammy Beaumont mounted a historic inning underlined by a record-breaking double-hundred on day three of the Women's Ashes at Trent Bridge.
With her knock of 208 runs from 331 balls, Beaumont became the first Englishwoman to score a Test double-century and set the country's greatest score since Betty Snowball's 189 against New Zealand in 1935.
Her innings also was the fifth highest of all-time in women's Test cricket, and the third best in Ashes cricket behind Ellyse Perry's 213 not out and Karen Rolton's 209.

The effort also brought the hosts within 10 runs of Australia's first-innings total of 473, before the 32-year-old was the last wicket to fall.
With Beaumont well supported by Natalie Sciver-Brunt (78) and then Danni Wyatt (44), Australia's attack struggled to break through early.
But after a long push from Ashleigh Gardner (4-99) and three wickets to Tahlia McGrath (3-24) after lunch, the Australians wrestled back some control.
Having removed England captain Heather Knight late on day three, Gardner found the edge of Sciver-Brunt before she clean-bowled Sophia Dunkley (nine).

Darcie Brown then ended the explosive run of Test debutant Wyatt before Ellyse Perry grabbed her first of the innings by sending Amy Jones (13) in the direction of Annabel Sutherland at mid-on.
McGrath removed Sophie Ecclestone (17) for lbw before taking the scalps of Lauren Filer (11) and Kate Cross (0) at England's tail end.
With Beaumont finally dismissed by Gardner after two days of chaos, England were all out for 463 after tea, bringing Australia's opener pair of Phoebe Litchfield (41*) and Beth Mooney (33*) back out to the crease for 19 overs.
The Australians take a 92-run lead into day four with 10 wickets remaining.
With the one-off Test being the first women's match in England to be staged over five days instead of four, the battle sets up for a tight final two days.
The action begins at 8pm Sunday (AEST) with Australians able to catch every ball on Nine and 9Now.
