Windies coach Law banned for outburst
West Indies cricket coach Stuart Law has been suspended from two games of upcoming five-match ODI series in India for making "inappropriate comments" to a TV umpire and fourth official.
The former Australian international admitted breaching the International Cricket Council (ICC) code of conduct during Sunday's second Test match in Hyderabad.
The 54-year-old - who will take over as head coach at Middlesex in December - has accepted the sanction, so will be sidelined for the October 21 and 24 ODIs in Guwahati and Vishkhapatnam.
He was also fined 100 per cent and received three demerit points.
Law already had one demerit point and a 25 per cent fine on his record after an incident in a Test against Pakistan in May, 2017 so the latest infraction pushed him over the suspension threshold.
In Sunday's incident Law went into the TV umpire's room and made inappropriate comments after Kieran Powell was contentiously caught in the slips before the Windies crashed to a 10-wicket defeat and 2-0 series loss.
"He then walked to the fourth umpire's area and, in the presence of the players, again directed inappropriate comments at the fourth official," an ICC statement said.
