Paceman's celebration nearly injures teammate

Plenty of things happen on the cricket field but eye-gauging is something you seldom see.

That’s unless you’re playing club cricket in Melbourne.

Melbourne University cricket club opening bowler Stephen Reid couldn’t hide excitement after dismissing a batsman during a recent game.

The paceman came flying down the pitch after the opposing batsman was caught behind from a fast paced delivery.

Following the dismissal, Reid runs down the wicket to celebrate with his teammates.

As he meets them at the other end of the pitch his wicketkeeper comes to give him a high five but cops an errant finger to the eye.

The ‘keeper was shocked by the clash and even reacts like the fast bowler did it on purpose.
