'Incredible': Record-breaking Lizelle Lee innings lifts Hobart Hurricanes to WBBL title
Hobart Hurricanes opener Lizelle Lee unleashed a record-breaking knock in the WBBL final on Saturday night to lift her side to victory over the Perth Scorchers.
The South African blasted an unbeaten 77 from 44 balls — the highest individual score in a WBBL decider — to power the Hurricanes to an eight-wicket win in Hobart.
The Scorchers posted 5-137 and the Lee-inspired Hurricanes chased down the runs in 15 overs.

The Hurricanes, in season 11 of the WBBL, secured their maiden title.
"Is anybody going to stop Lizelle Lee?" said Fox Cricket commentator Natalie Germanos during Lee's barnstorming knock.
"Incredible. Such clean hitting."

Co-commentator Kirby Short added: "Lizelle Lee putting on an absolute clinic. She's found her tempo."
Prior to Saturday night, the highest individual score in a WBBL decider was Hayley Matthews' 69 for the Melbourne Renegades in last year's final.
Lee hammered 10 fours and four sixes in a breathtaking player-of-the-match performance.
She brought up her half-century with a perfectly timed, brutal pull shot that sailed for six over midwicket.
Lee joined the Hurricanes on an overseas player contract for the 2022-23 season and is now signed as a local player, having attained Australian citizenship.
"It's amazing," Lee said of winning a WBBL title as a local player.
"We [Lee and her wife, Tanja] wanted to make Tassie our home, and we felt [at] home from the first time we got here. Everybody has been incredible. So [we're] just very humble and grateful that we can be here."
