Dave Warner always wears his heart on his sleeve.

And while few things make him prouder than starring for Australia, there's no doubt his new role as a father is what makes him tick these days.

Warner showed his love for new daughter Ivy Mae after plundering the Pakistan bowlers for a match-winning half century in Australia's six wicket win T20 victory in Dubai on Sunday night.

But while the pugnacious left-hander's usual celebration involves a flamboyant leap and kiss of the coat of arms on his helmet, this time it was a far more personal gesture.

Having reached his 50 with a reverse sweep six, the Aussie opener grabbed his bat and rocked it like a baby in a display of affection sure to have warmed the heart of fiance Candice Falzon.

Baby Ivy, who the couple refer to as their "Ashes baby" after she was conceived during Australia's tour of England last year, was born last month, with Warner's unbeaten 53 against Pakistan was his first match for Australia since becoming a father.

Perhaps fatherhood may even mellow the feisty batsman.
