Matthew Wade falls shy of Shield ton against South Australia
Test incumbent Matthew Wade has fallen short of a century for Tasmania against South Australia in their Sheffield Shield game.
Wade made 89 before smacking a rank knee-high full toss from part-time spinner Tom Cooper straight to the deep square leg fielder on day three at Adelaide Oval.
Tasmania declared just after tea at 5-345, some 145 runs behind SA's first innings total, with Alex Doolan unbeaten on 170 and Australia's Test captain Tim Paine not out 29.
Wade's brain-fade ended a 171-run third-wicket partnership with Doolan, whose 11th first-class ton featured 19 fours.

The pair batted throughout Wednesday's morning session but Wade was out soon after lunch as the Tasmanians lost 3-56 in a 20-over span, with the gentle spin of Cooper (3-76) claiming all three victims.
Ben McDermott (10) was out lbw when pushing forward defensively and Caleb Jewell (nine) edged to gully.
SA on Tuesday declared at 6-490 with Jake Weatherald top-scoring with 198 and his opening partner Henry Hunt making 132.
