Khawaja caught squeezing Adam Zampa's bottom during Australia anthem

Usman Khawaja has laughed off a video that shows him grabbing Adam Zampa's bottom as they observed the Australian anthem.

The footage was taken ahead of the Aussies' second one-dayer against New Zealand, which doubled as Zampa's international debut.

Khawaja, who had just been recalled to the side, is seen reaching down with his left hand and squeezing Zampa's buttocks in what was presumably an attempt to distract the rookie.

Whatever his reasoning, Zampa didn't flinch.

Khawaja brushed off the incident when asked about the video on Twitter.

"hahaha oh boy. Didn't realize there were cameras filming from behind," he tweeted.

"haha it was all consensual. Just have a joke with the debutant #playon".

Australia won that match to square the series, but last the decider.
