Unsettled T20 line-up worries Harris

Retired fast bowler Ryan Harris is concerned Australia's inability to field a settled T20 line-up will hurt their chances at the upcoming World Cup.

Harris has taken aim at Australia's busy playing schedule ahead of the tournament in March, saying they haven't been given a chance to play their best available 11.

Australia made numerous changes during the three-match series against India that was taken out in a clean sweep by the visitors following their seven-wicket win in Sydney on Sunday.

In contrast, India picked the same side for the entire series, with a top-six batting order, which dominated the home side's bowling attack, seemingly well-settled in the lead up to the tournament in India.

Harris said a number of Australian players being unavailable due to having to fly out for the upcoming tour of New Zealand hasn't been ideal for Australia's continuity.

"Scheduling there doesn't exactly let you have your best team out on the park," Harris told SEN.

"You've got your one-day team, who's probably half of your T20 side having to get over to New Zealand and acclimatise."

"I know when we get our best side on the park - that wasn't far away from it yesterday - I know we'll perform well."

Australia kicks off its New Zealand tour with a one-day match on Wednesday.

Harris also questioned why the side has played so little T20 cricket in between World Cups, playing only one other T20 - against England in August last year - in the past 12 months.

"If you're taking it seriously, I think you play a lot more than that when there's a World Cup involved," he said.

Australia have yet to win the T20 World Cup.
