Victoria have confirmed that Test debutant Peter Handscomb will return to their lineup for the Sheffield Shield cricket match against Tasmania.

The unbeaten Bushrangers have also named Evan Gulbis and Matthew Short, who are yet to make their first-class debuts.

They will play Tasmania in Hobart from December 5.

It is a pink-ball game, giving Handscomb a seamless transition between his Test debut in Adelaide against South Africa and the first Test against Pakistan at the Gabba on December 15.

All three games are day-night matches featuring the pink ball.

Handscomb impressed in Adelaide, scoring 54 in the first innings and then hitting the winning run.

Victoria's comeback win over SA on Tuesday means they have started their Shield defence with four wins.

They have lost Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell to the national one-day team and named a 13-man squad for Hobart.

Short and Gulbis played in a Victorian XI against South Africa on November 19 at the MCG.

Squad (final team to be named): Cameron White (captain), Scott Boland, Dan Christian, Travis Dean, Evan Gulbis, Peter Handscomb, Sam Harper, Marcus Harris, John Hastings, Jon Holland, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Tremain.
