TRAVIS DEAN'S BIG MCG DAY OUT:

The 23-year-old has set a swag of records for a batsman on debut in the Sheffield Shield match against Queensland at the MCG:

* First man to score centuries in both innings of a Sheffield Shield match (Arthur Morris achieved the feat in a first-class match between NSW and Queensland during World War II, not recorded as a Shield match)

* Most runs on Sheffield Shield debut - 263 (overtakes Les Favell, who scored 250 for South Australia in 1951-52)

* Most runs for an Australian on first-class debut - 263 (overtakes Arthur Morris, who scored 262 for NSW in 1940-41)

* Sixth-only player internationally to score centuries in both innings of their first-class debut (after Arthur Morris 1940-41, Nari Contractor 1952-53, Aamer Malik 1979-80, Tharanga Indika 2010-11, Virag Awate 2012-13)

* Faced most balls of any Sheffield Shield debutant - 500 (overtaking David Dawson, who faced 445 balls on debut for Tasmania in 2004-05)
