Michael Vaughan pleas with Usman Khawaja to 'decide your destiny' amid retirement speculation
Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes Usman Khawaja should end his career on his terms as speculation continues around whether the SCG Test will be his last.
Khawaja turned 39 during the third Test at Adelaide and will play his 88th match in a baggy green in Sydney.
The left-hander has looked solid in his move to the middle order but with a need to rejuvenate an aging side, the belief is Khawaja could be set for a farewell.

Vaughan wants the veteran to finish his way.
"I would say to Usman, 'Don't let them decide. You decide your destiny'," he said in The Sydney Morning Herald.

"When someone has been playing for so long, we've just got to let them decide. Usman has had an incredible career and not many get the chance to say goodbye on their own terms at their own venue.
"If he doesn't do that, he runs the risk of his career ending not on his own terms. I can't think of a better way to say goodbye than at his home ground in an Ashes series.
"If Uzzie has got the energy and capacity to really want to fight on, yeah, I could see that happening, but leaving in Sydney in an Ashes series sounds pretty good to me.
"The likes of Matt Renshaw, Nathan McSweeney, Campbell Kellaway and Ollie Peake, they're the players we've got to get into the Australian side in the next year or so."

An ending at the SCG would be poetic for Khawaja who debuted at the ground in 2011.
Khawaja grew up playing in the Randwick area and the start of his professional career was spent with NSW before he switch to Queensland in the 2012/13 season.
Australia coach Andrew McDonald has confirmed Khawaja will play at the SCG but said "there's no indication at my end that he's calling it in Sydney".
On X, Darren Lehmann speculated the early confirmation could mean "something in the pipeline".
