David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad side have stormed to the top of the IPL table following Sunday's 85-run win over Mumbai Indians.

The Australian opener put on 85 for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan after Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field.

Sunrisers skipper Warner deaprted for a pugnacious 48 off 33 balls after hitting Harbhajan Singh's delivery straight to Keiron Pollard at long off before Harbhajan snared Kane Williamson for two.

However, Dhawan's 82 and Yuvraj Singh's entertaining 39 from 23 balls helped the visitors side post a decent score of 3-177.

Mumbai's response got off to a disastrous start with seamer Ashish Nehra ripping through the hosts' top order as Sharma's side slumped to 5-30 in the fifth over with the home skipper, Parthiv Patel, Ambati Rayundu and Joss Buttler all dismissed for single figures.

The departure of Kieron Pollard for 11 off the bowling of Moises Henriques essentially sealed the win with Harbhajan's 21 the top score in a feeble batting display as the Ricky Ponting-coached Mumbai were bowled out for 92.

"It was very clinical, I'm very pleased." said Warner.

"It was a fantastic knock from Shikhar, we felt 170 was par. We have been executing our skills at the top of the order.

"We've got swing up front. We've got the momentum, we've got to keep going on with that."
