Streak named new Zimbabwe coach

Former Test allrounder Heath Streak has taken over as his country's new head coach.

The 42-year-old, who skippered his nation between 2000-02, succeeds interim coach Makhaya Ntini who replaced Australian Dav Whatmore who was sacked in June.

Streak's first assignment will be a two-match home Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins at the end of this month.

He said: "For me, having captained this country, to be offered the post of head coach is a great honour."
