And then he ended Dawid Malan's resistance when the batsman gloved him down the leg side. Both strikes were critical in ending any hope of England saving the Test.

* Key moment: Could England survive the wet patch? England skipper Joe Root wasn't happy with the state of the pitch, and he would have been fuming after seeing Bairstow get clean bowled. Hazlewood's delivery skidded on to hit the off-stump, setting the scene for an Australian victory.
