Sydney Sixers captain Moises Henriques is unsure whether Brad Haddin will play on next BBL season, but says the veteran wicketkeeper will be welcomed with open arms if he does want to continue his glittering career.

Haddin wound back the clock with a handy 38 off 25 balls in the Sixers' nine-wicket loss to the Perth Scorchers in Saturday's BBL final at the WACA Ground.

The 39-year-old averaged just 17.5 with the bat during the tournament, but his experience proved vital.

"We saw he batted beautifully tonight," Henriques said.

"It would be nice for us if he could churn out a few more performances like that next year, but that decision is completely with him

"In the big games, he came out and performed.

"He's very calm under pressure. He's a great role model not just as a cricketer, but also as a person and the way he conducts himself off the field.

"He's just someone you want to learn from all the time."

Henriques was disappointed with his team's display in the final.

The Sixers slumped to 3-17 before limping to 9-141.

The total proved to be well short of what was required for victory, with the Scorchers cruising to the win with 25 balls to spare.

Henriques said the display typified the topsy-turvy nature of the Sixers' season.

"We never really played a fantastic game of cricket," Henriques said.

"We played some good cricket in patches, but we couldn't put together a full game.

"We didn't deserve to win the competition to be fair.

"But there's some encouraging signs knowing that we didn't play all that well and still got six wins and got through to the final.

"I feel like we've got some match-winners, but (on Saturday) we were just outplayed."
