Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad has tested positive for Clenbuterol.

The 29-year-old faces a provisional ban after a sample provided in an out-of-competition test in January was found to contain the prohibited substance

The steroid is used to treat breathing disorders but is commonly used to lose weight and build muscle.

The International Cricket Council announced on Thursday, Shahzad will be suspended as of April 26 unless he challenges the decision.

"In accordance with the ICC Anti-Doping Code, pending the outcome of the disciplinary process, Shahzad will be provisionally suspended," a statement from the world governing body said.
