Perth Scorchers paceman Joel Paris could miss the entire BBL season after straining his right side during Thursday's intra-club match.

Paris, who missed the start of the summer with a quad injury, has been ruled out for between four to six weeks after scans on Friday revealed the extent of his side strain.

The injury is a big blow to the Scorchers, whose pace stocks were already running thin.

Nathan Coulter-Nile will miss at least three more months with back stress fractures, while left-arm paceman Jason Behrendorff will be sidelined for another two to four weeks with a fractured leg.

Batsman Shaun Marsh is expected to miss the start of the BBL season while he recovers from a broken finger.

Paris notched two ODIs for Australia in January, but he hasn't played a competitive fixture since March.

The 24-year-old has a history of soft tissue injuries, and his latest setback is another blow in his development.

The Scorchers start their BBL campaign at home to the Adelaide Strikers on Friday night.
