Marsh out but proves fitness for WA
It took a blistering caught and bowled catch to dismiss Shaun Marsh who showed he's overcome a hamstring complaint on the opening day of Western Australia's Sheffield Shield clash with South Australia.
Marsh came into the clash at the WACA Ground after a hamstring injury that put his place in jeopardy for next week's First Test against South Africa.
But he showed there is no reason for concern, making a composed 73 before falling shortly before the dinner break.
WA are 3-180 with captain Adam Voges 14 and Mitch Marsh four.
South Australia's bowlers have done well through the first two sessions and started to get some reward before dinner dismissing Marsh and then Michael Klinger for 61.
Chadd Sayers has been the pick of the Redbacks' bowlers, taking 1-37 from 16 overs with Joe Mennie and Travis Head the other wicket-takers.
WA made a steady start after being sent in to bat with a 41-run opening stand between Marsh and Cameron Bancroft, before the latter fell for 20 when clean bowled by Mennie.
Marsh and Klinger combined for a 110-run stand before the off-spin of Head brought Marsh undone.
His straight drive was hit with force but the sharp chance was snaffled on the return by Head.
