BBL standout Rashid Khan has continued his impressive form in an unstoppable spell for Afghanistan against Ireland in a Twenty20 international.

Khan, who has turned out for the Adelaide Strikers in the last two editions of the BBL, took four wickets in four balls, becoming the first player to take a double hat-trick in an international T20.

The 20-year-old finished with a haul of 5/27 off his four overs, giving Afghanistan a 32-run win over the Irishmen.

Khan is currently ranked as the top T20 bowler in international cricket, and has been the BBL's chief destroyer over the past two seasons.

Khan's wizardry has left batsmen all over Australia clueless over the last two editions of the BBL AAP

Since making his international debut in 2015, Khan has taken the cricket world by storm and has played a major role in Afghanistan's rise to prominence.

He became the fastest bowler to take 100 ODI wickets, reaching the milestone in just 44 games, shattering Australian paceman Mitchell Starc's mark of 52 matches.

Khan has also taken 75 wickets in just 38 T20 matches for Afghanistan at an astounding average of 11.56.

Australia will have to be wary of Khan and the explosive Afghanistan team, with the two sides set to clash in Australia's opening match at this year's World Cup.
