NZ cricketer has bat ruined by US authorities
A New Zealand cricketer has had a bat ruined by overzealous US customs officials who drilled into the blade searching for drugs.
Jimmy Neesham was travelling through America with his Caribbean Premier League side, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, when authorities clearly believed the bat could be a device used to smuggle drugs.
The 23-year-old Black Cap posted a picture on Twitter of the bat with drill holes in the back of the blade along with the caption, "imagine if your cricket gear went through America and they drilled holes in your bat to look for drugs..."

"Just to clarify again, the bat belongs to Lendl Simmons. Pretty happy I managed to dodge that bullet!" he tweeted.
The hard-hitting 23-year-old, who also plays in the IPL for the Delhi Daredevils, has enjoyed a great start to his international career with New Zealand after scoring two centuries in his first four Tests.
