NSW young guns show cricket future is good

JASON SANGHA AND JACK EDWARDS SHAPE AS THE FUTURE OF AUSTRALIAN CRICKET:-

*The 19-year-old Sangha and 18-year-old Edwards both scored centuries on day two of NSW's Sheffield Shield clash with Tasmania, sharing a game-changing 180-run stand.

*Cricket statistician Ric Finlay says it's only the third time that two teenagers have scored Shield tons in the same innings. The NSW duo joins Ricky Ponting and Michael Di Venuto (1993) plus Jimmy Maher and Martin Love (1994).

*Sangha made history last year with his maiden first-class ton, which came in an Ashes tour game. Sachin Tendulkar is the only batsman to have scored a first-class century against England at a younger age.

*Edwards set a record with his maiden ton for NSW last month, becoming the youngest centurion in Australian domestic one-day cricket history.

*Sangha was part of Australia's under-19 squad when he was 16 years old. At the same age, he became the youngest player to ever receive a NSW contract.
