Maddinson's classic response to Test axing
Nic Maddinson might have been dropped from the Test team over poor form but he certainly wasn’t struggling in the field during the Sydney Sixers’ win over Brisbane Heat at the Gabba.
The Sixers batsman was fielding at long on when the Heat’s Alex Ross thumped a ball high and hard in his direction.
The ball seemed certain to clear the rope until Maddinson leapt high. He grabbed it out of the air and landed on one foot before throwing the ball back into play as momentum took him over the boundary rope.

He then casually stepped back onto the field of play to complete the catch. He even managed a smile as he ran in to celebrate the moment with his teammates.
The Heat recovered to post a competitive score of 6-186 which the Sixers managed to chase down with two balls to spare.
