Renshaw shines as Aussies seal T20 series victory
Matt Renshaw led Australia to a T20 series victory over Bangladesh in Chattogram, in what the Queenslander called an “important innings”.
Renshaw scored an unbeaten 89 off 52 balls with his time at the crease proving pivotal as Australia won the match by seven runs, following another slow start.

After losing the ODI series 2-1, the Aussies looked in trouble at 3-44 before Renshaw partnered with Tim David (45 off 26) for a 97-run partnership.
The player of the match rattled off three sixes in a row to give the Aussies a big boost on their way to 5-196.
The result means Australia takes an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Renshaw’s performance was a major boost for the left-hander, having amassed only 24 runs in his past five innings in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
“I think there’s always those doubts around whether you’re good enough, especially when you’re in and out of formats and in and out of teams, so it was nice to realise that I’m good enough at this format,” said Renshaw.
“Obviously my international career has been a bit strange around different formats, but I think just being able to be comfortable in my skin [was important].
“Today was a really important innings for me. It came just after a run of low scores, just remembering why I wanted to play and how I wanted to play.
“The way that I started was one of the best starts that I’ve had in my career.
“I was really pumped, and then to go on and make the score I did and set the team up for a good win was really good in this format.”
Renshaw also proved a hit with the ball, with the part-time off-spinner taking the key wicket of Tazid Hasan for 30 off 15 balls as Bangladesh fell short on 6-189.
