Sam Konstas has given a calm response to the growing push for him to debut at Test level, but admits he would love the opportunity to test himself against India.

The 19-year-old scored another century over the weekend, this time against the tourists while representing the Australian Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval.

Konstas reached triple-figures off just 90 balls and was facing a host of international bowlers including Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja.

While he remains just outside the Test squad, many believe Konstas could receive his baggy green this summer - especially after the Aussies failed to perform in Perth.

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald, the teenage star didn't talk up his chances of a Test debut but was open to the idea of batting against Jasprit Bumrah.

"Bumrah is a skilful player, obviously, and probably the best in the world. Hopefully, one day I can face him and see how we go," Konstas said.

"I feel confident [in my game]. I've been training really hard and it's a great opportunity to play against the best players.

"I feel like I'm in a good head space. Whatever happens, happens really. Hopefully, I can keep scoring runs and maybe one day I can represent my country."

Konstas has just 10 first-class games to his name, but has been turning heads since a young age during his rise up the cricket ranks in NSW.

The right-hander hit some insane shots in Canberra, including a ramp shot for a boundary that will be played on highlight reels plenty of times in Konstas' career.

"I've been practising it a little bit ... good to get a few away," Konstas said.

"Tim just told us to have good intent and put pressure on them and treat it like a 46-over game. I was just trying to keep things simple and just trying to stick to my plans."

The second game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kick off on Friday in Adelaide.
