Lyon answers reporter's phone

Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon had the media scrum in hysterics during a press conference leading up to the first test against Pakistan at the Gabba.

Lyon was about to answer a question from a journalist when a Red Hot Chilli Peppers ringtone started to ring out from another reporter’s phone. The phone had been doubling as a voice recorder and was placed on the desk in front of spinner.

A wry smile spread across the off Lyon’s face as the phone rang.

“Want me to answer that?” Lyon asked the media pack as he looked around the room.

The Aussie spinner then looks down at the phone and answers it.

“G’day, David, sorry we’re at a press conference, cheers,” Lyon said as the media scrum around him cracked up with laughter.

It was at that moment the journalist who owned the phone came to retrieve it off the cricketer.

Lyon’s cheeky smile said it all as he shook his head and handed the phone back.

“Rookie,” the spinner joked.

The red-faced reporter grabbed his phone and apologised to everyone in the room as Lyon made another tongue-in-cheek wise crack.

“That’s a big fine actually,” he said.
