McCullum schools Faulkner with trick shot

New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum has exacted a small amount of revenge for his World Cup final flop, bedazzling two of Australia's bowlers in the Indian Premier League overnight.

Playing for Chennai Super Kings, McCullum belted 81 runs from 61 balls to help his side to 157 runs against a Rajasthan Royals outfit that featured Australian allrounders Shane Watson, James Faulkner and their Aussie skipper Steve Smith.While McCullum spared none of the Royals' bowlers, it was a shot he played against Faulkner that triggered a deafening roar amongst fans. Showing little regard for personal safety, McCullum crouched across the wicket to flick a slower ball over his own head and that of the wicketkeeper's to score a remarkable boundary.So clean was the shot that the ball very nearly sailed over the rope for a six.Faulkner, though widely regarded as one of the world's best short form bowlers, bled 40 runs from his four overs, with Watson belted for 19 runs from his two overs.Neither Australian managed to claim a wicket.The Royals could manage just 145 runs in their run chase, with Watson top-scoring on 28 runs.Smith was dismissed for just four runs, with Faulkner scoring 16 runs off 13 balls.
