Maxwell's stunning efforts sets up spectacular catch

This is another chapter in the amazing cricket career of Glenn Maxwell.

The super-talented Victorian has regularly gone from the sublime to the ridiculous during a career that promised the world but occasionally delivered an atlas.

Maxwell’s latest effort, with a little help from Victorian teammate Rob Quiney, is something special.

In the Matador Cup clash with Western Australia at the WACA, Warriors batsman D’Arcy Short would have been thinking he’d hit a six prior to The Big Show’s intervention.

Maxwell launched himself into the air and caught the ball before throwing it in the direction of Quiney who did the easy bit.

If Maxwell had touched the ground prior to releasing the ball it would have gone for a six.

Instead it was a superb catch for a player who continues to astound and frustrate in equal parts.
