Lyon injures finger in fielding mishap

Australia spinner Nathan Lyon injured a finger on his right hand while attempting a catch on Monday during the third Test against England at the WACA Ground.

Lyon was fielding at leg gully when he attempted to catch Craig Overton's glancing shot off the bowling of Pat Cummins.

Lyon couldn't grasp the tough chance, and immediately ran off the field to receive treatment.

However, he was able to return to the field a short time later.

England tail-ender James Anderson sent an injury scare through his camp when he was struck on the helmet by a fierce Pat Cummins bouncer.

Anderson was struck on the side of the helmet trying to evade the rising delivery and soon after had a lump behind his right ear.

The 35-year-old was clearly rattled by the hit, and was assessed for several minutes before being given the green light to bat on.
