Lee delivery breaks Simmons' bat

Retiring fast bowler Brett Lee continues to demonstrate his blistering pace after breaking Craig Simmons' bat with one of his latest deliveries.

The 38-year-old Sydney Sixers star, who will retire at the end of his side's Big Bash campaign, stunned Adelaide's Simmons with a 149km/h yorker in the opening over of their semi-final clash, snapping the batsman's willow in two.

Simmons was left with just the handle of his bat as the remainder was sent flying down the wicket.

The Sixers, with Nic Maddinson smashing 85 from 46 balls, had posted 4-181 before bowling out Adelaide for just 94 to secure their place in the Big Bash final - and another match for Lee before retirement.

They will meet the winner of Sunday night's semi-final between the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars.
