West Indies star Kieron Pollard has taken an outrageous outfield catch in the Indian Premier League.

The big all-rounder was playing for Mumbai Indians, who were defending 5-170 against Chennai Super Kings. Pollard made 17 not out off seven balls, including two sixes.

But his effort in the field stole the show.

In the fifth over, left-handed Indian star Suresh Raina lofted a shot square of the wicket on the off-side. Pollard leapt upwards at full stretch and reached backwards to take the ball with his right hand, before tumbling to the ground, planting his left hand and completing a somersault.

Raina stood at the crease in disbelief, as the commentator exclaimed: "Kieron Pollard, are you kidding?!" Pollard beat his chest in triumph, having finished his landing just inside the boundary.

It was an incredible piece of athleticism. Australian paceman Jason Behrendorff (who took 2-22) was the lucky bowler.

Mumbai won by 37 runs as Chennai's chase faltered to 8-133.
