Coulter-Nile takes three in four balls

Nathan Coulter-Nile has starred as Kolkata Knight Riders downed David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL elimination final.

Coulter-Nile grabbed three wickets in four balls to finish with 3-20 from his four overs, including a remarkable caught and bowled to dismiss Chris Jordan.

Coulter-Nile had to make ground to his left as he completed his follow through, throwing out his left hand to complete the catch.

“The left hand coming out at just the right time, and he’s taken a beauty,” was the view of commentator Ravi Shastri.

“That’s a brilliant catch,” agreed Matthew Hayden.

Coulter-Nile’s spell helped restrict Sunrisers to 7-128 from their 20 overs.

Warner continued his good form with the bat, top scoring with 37 from 35 balls.

A rain delay at the interval meant Kolkata’s target was reduced to 48 runs from just six overs, and Chris Lynn followed the old “six and out” theory, depositing the first ball he faced over the ropes, before being dismissed second ball.

An unbeaten 32 from 19 balls from Gautam Gambhir was enough to get Kolkata over the line, ending the run of defending champions Sunrisers.
