Hurricanes' new coach to be named soon

Cricket Tasmania will reveal the Hobart Hurricanes' new coach in the next fortnight.

Damien Wright's contract was not renewed in January following the franchise's seventh-place finish in the Big Bash League during the summer.

"We've narrowed down the Hurricanes (candidates) to a smaller group ... we are getting closer to an outcome which will hopefully happen in the next week or two," Cricket Tasmania spokesman Andrew Dykes told reporters on Wednesday.
