Finch OK with DRS ball-tracking blooper

The bizarre ball-tracking replay that sealed Aaron Finch's fate in Ranchi hasn't altered the captain's positive view of the Decision Review System (DRS).

Finch, who was trapped lbw on 93 during the third ODI, opted to review his dismissal.

There appeared to be a clear discrepancy between where the ball actually landed and where the simulated replay suggested it did.

Finch would almost certainly have been out regardless but the glitch captured the attention of fans plus past and present players from around the world.

Shane Warne pondered "what the hell was the DRS doing!" on Twitter, while Mark Waugh used the same platform to declare he couldn't "see how on the earth that ball was hitting middle stump".

Finch wasn't nearly as fussed.

"Not a great review, really," Finch said, when asked what was running through his mind while watching the ball-tracking replay.

"The screen was a bit blocked - so I couldn't tell exactly where it pitched.

"It's one of those things, technology isn't right all of the time is it? Your phone sometimes runs out of service.

"I think all in all it's a pretty good system. It's there for the absolute howler of a decision and mine certainly wasn't that, by any stretch."

The DRS will be in use at this year's World Cup and such an error would obviously create more of a stir if it proved costly in a high-stakes game at the tournament.
