England took a firm grip on the second test with a massive first innings lead of 391 runs after Pakistan was bowled out for 198 on Sunday.

Captain Alastair Cook didn't force the follow-on and England extended its lead to 402 before rain suspended play for the second time on the third day. England took early tea at 0-11.

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq fought a lone battle and top-scored with 52 as Pakistan batting crumbled against a four-man seam attack, led by Chris Woakes' 4-67.

Resuming at 4-57, Pakistan limped to 8-119 by lunch which was extended after rain suspended play for an hour.

Misbah frustrated England by contributing 60 runs for a ninth-wicket stand with Wahab Riaz (39) before off-spinner Moeen Ali wrapped up the innings by dismissing both batsmen.
