Ashes 2017: Ugly clash between cricket fans and police at Adelaide Oval
There were ugly scenes at the Adelaide Oval after cricket fans allegedly refused to leave the ground after day one of the Ashes Test.
Police were called in to remove rowdy supporters on the grassed area who reportedly wanted to remain despite play wrapping up by about 10pm on Saturday night.
It was the first day-night Test match ever contested in the historic Ashes series, marking a new era for pink-ball cricket.

Security and police assisted each other in stepping in to break up the crowd, though exact details on how many people were removed and/or arrested is still unclear.
"Several people were evicted for behavioural offences and they were escorted from the premises by police," a South Australia Police spokesperson told Wide World of Sports.
"Generally people there were issued barring orders or on-the-spot fines."

The spokesperson said barring orders prevent those unruly supporters from returning to the event for a set period of time. Extra patrols were at the Adelaide Oval for the day-night Test where Australia are looking to take a 2-0 series lead against England.
Day 2 of the second Test resumes at the Adelaide Oval at 2pm (AEDT) with the home side at 4/209.
