Cowan sticks with BBL Sixers

Former Test opening batsman Ed Cowan has re-signed with the Big Bash League's Sydney Sixers.

The 33-year-old returned to the Twenty20 side last season and was delighted to recommit with the SCG-based side for 2015/16.

"I'm thrilled to be part of such a strong and successful team once more," said Cowan.

Cowan helped the Sixers to the inaugural BBL title in 2011/12 and spent a couple of seasons at the Hobart Hurricanes before returning to Sydney.

The BBL season starts next month with the Sixers opening their campaign against the Sydney Thunder on December 17.
