Candice Warner says Cricket Australia's call to let Tim Paine play 'slightly concerning' as a player's wife
Candice Warner says Cricket Australia's decision to allow Tim Paine to continue playing despite his sexting scandal is worrying as a wife of an Australian player.
The ex-Ironwoman has been married to Australian opener David Warner since 2015 and was asked for her opinion on how the scandal involving Paine has been handled.
"They're basically saying that it's not okay for an Australian cricket captain send these messages, but it's okay for an Australian player," she told 2GB's Wide World of Sports Radio.

"As a wife of an Australian cricketer, that is slightly concerning and it does make me worry."

Despite calls from some parts of the cricket world for Paine to be removed from the side, Cricket Australia has continually stated that the recently-resigned skipper will be available for selection.
If Paine is selected for the Ashes opener in Brisbane, he is likely to cop a barrage of sledges from England's Barmy Army, something the Warners are familiar with themselves.

When asked how the wicketkeeper should deal with the treatment, Warner revealed her husband's approach.
"In regards to David and myself, I think the Barmy Army you've got to look at it in a certain way," she said.

"I know the way David looks at it is, 'Well if they're singing about me, they're worried about me', so David uses it as a fuel to fire him up and get him going.
"We saw images of David in England having a bit of a laugh with them. Even on Twitter, David will reply to some of the things and they'll have a laugh."

Warner believes that the scandal won't have any impact on the Australian camp, saying the players are "really focused on the first game".
"I think there are reports that the players are getting around and supporting him, but it's also about supporting his family through a really difficult situation," she said.
