David Warner has been rewarded for an incredible season with the Sydney Thunder, earning a spot in the Big Bash team of the tournament.

The 38-year-old opener has been in red-hot form in BBL|14, leading the Thunder into the finals and setting the competition alight with bat in hand.

Warner has amassed 346 runs at 49.42 for the tournament, scoring three half-centuries.

Maxwell belted three fifties, including a jaw-dropping 90 off 52 against the Renegades, while Stoinis made valuable contributions in the middle-order in his first year as skipper.

Hobart Hurricanes opener Mitch Owen capped off his rapid rise with a spot in the team, while looming Test debutant Cooper Connolly was also picked after scoring more runs than any other player in the Big Bash season.

Underrated seamers Jason Behrendorff and Tom Rogers headlined the bowling attack.

"The BBL|14 team of the tournament features the perfect mix of established stars and new faces who have performed exceptionally during this campaign," Cricket Australia executive general manager Alistair Dobson said.

"It is brilliant to see the likes of David Warner and Jason Behrendorff earn selection for the first time, alongside a host of other experienced players. Their performances over many years reflect all players' dedication to the BBL.
