Stars skipper Glenn Maxwell isolating after positive rapid antigen test result
The Melbourne Stars' horror Big Bash season continues, with the club confirming that captain Glenn Maxwell has tested positive to a rapid antigen test.
The 33-year-old had been one of the club's few established players that was yet to be hampered by COVID complications.
"Maxwell returned a positive rapid antigen test after the game against the Melbourne Renegades and has since undertaken a PCR test and is currently isolating," a club statement read.

"Melbourne Stars will provide an update once the result of the PCR test is known and ask everyone to respect Glenn's privacy at this time."

The Stars have been completely dismantled by the virus in the last couple of matches, fielding teams of relative unknowns in heavy defeats to the Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades.
They're due to play the Adelaide Strikers on Friday - who they will then play again on Monday, before finishing the regular season with games against the Renegades, Heat, and Hurricanes.
After those two losses every game is looming as a must-win for the Stars, who are now second-last on the ladder.
