Australia trail the West Indies 2-0 in their T20 series in the Caribbean after losing the second match by 56 runs on Sunday (AEST).

The Aussies are just one match away from defeat in the five-match series after bowling first and conceding 4-196 against the home side in St Lucia, then being bundled out for just 140.

Shimron Hetmyer top-scored for the Windies with 61 from 36 balls, as Josh Hazlewood, Ashton Agar and Mitchell Marsh took one wicket apiece for Australia. Adam Zampa dropped a pair of catches, including a caught-and-bowled, while Dan Christian spilled an outfield chance when Dwayne Bravo (47 not out) was on 15.

Marsh scored a second consecutive half-century for the series, 54 runs from 52 balls, but again had insufficient support. Josh Philippe (13) and Moises Henriques (19) were the only other Aussie batsmen to reach double figures, while Hayden Walsh claimed 3-29, dismissing all of the top-scoring trio.

Marsh was the fourth wicket, falling with the score at 101. As in the first game, Australia suffered a poor batting collapse, spanning six wickets in as many overs, to let their chances of victory slip.

Captain Aaron Finch managed just six. He will hope his depleted side can avoid an unassailable 3-0 deficit when the third game is played on Tuesday (AEST).
