Annabel Sutherland has been crowned the 2025 Belinda Clark Medallist, but she admits the win "doesn't sit well".

The honour came days after she made history as the first female cricketer to make a Test century on the MCG, as Australia cruised through to a 16-0 Ashes series whitewash over England.

But despite her heroics that saw her make 163 off 258 and named etched onto the MCG honour boards, the 23-year-old may still feel out of place at the top.

"It doesn't sit very well, to be honest," she said in her acceptance speech on Monday night in Melbourne.

"Similar to what Trav (Head) said in there, I would much rather just be out there playing the game, not sort of on stage, but it comes with it doesn't it?"

Sutherland beat out veteran teammates Beth Mooney (two-time winner) and Ash Gardner (2022 winner), with the youngster collecting every possible vote across the Ashes Test and their South Africa bout last February.

And now she gets to join that pair, as well as teammate Ellyse Perry, who is a three-time winner on the honour roll.

"You listen to those names, it's pretty cool," Sutherland said.

"I think if you could be half as good as any of those you'd be pretty happy.

"Growing up watching those girls play, that's more what stands out, they were role models for me growing up and still are so it's pretty cool to kind of sit alongside them."

Sutherland also finished equal third in the Women's ODI Player of the Year and sixth in the T20 International Women's Player of the Year awards.

The ODI winner was Ash Gardner, while Beth Mooney took home T20I player of the year.
