Comedian Stewart hilariously blasts FIFA
American comedian Jon Stewart has hilariously taken aim at FIFA as a corruption scandal continues to embroil football's governing body.
In his TV program, The Daily Show, Stewart lampoons the investigation which has seen 14 people, including nine current and former FIFA office holders, arrested on corruption charges.
Poking fun at the popularity of the game within the US at the beginning of the show, Stewart wonders how Swiss police were able to capture the suspects "keeping in mind they couldn't use their hands."
Even the Swiss authorities didn’t escape Stewart's razor wit, the 52-year-old mocking the European nation for its ability to make the arrests.
"FIFA is so bad, they got arrested by the Swiss," Stewart says.
"A country whose official policy on Nazi gold was, and I quote, 'we'll allow it'".
However, the main punch line of the show is a skit blasting claims the scandal included "racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering conspiracies in a 24 year scheme."
The skit, titled 'FIFA: A 24 year sting operation', has Stewart dress up like famous people throughout the early 1990s and late 2000, including MC Hammer, the Stone Temple Pilots and Rachel from hit TV show Friends.
