Carlos Ulberg had two simple words after he produced a stunning first-round knockout win over former UFC title contender Dominick Reyes.

"I'm coming," the New Zealand product said post-fight.

The victory at Sunday's event in Perth marks a continued rise for Ulberg, who is now clearly at the front of the line for a championship opportunity at light-heavyweight.

With less than 40 seconds remaining in the opening round, Ulberg dropped Reyes to the mat with a vicious one-two combination.

He then pounced on his American rival before the referee jumped in to call it off.

Ulberg (14-1) has now won nine-straight fights and appears destined to face the winner of next weekend's world title clash between Magomed Ankaleav and Alex Pereira.

His resume also includes wins over Jan Blachowicz and Alonzo Menifield.
