Signing off!
Thanks for tuning into our live coverage of UFC Freedom 250.
An epic night of fights and plenty going on outside the cage too.
Donald Trump and Dana White promised an event for the ages and it’s hard to argue they delivered exactly that.
Classy speech from Gaethje
Justin Gaethje, take an absolute bow!
After multiple attempts, the 37-year-old American finally captures the undisputed lightweight title and he does it on the White House lawn.
Coming into the fight as a huge $6 underdog with bookmakers, Gaethje paid tribute to the military and first responders in his post-fight speech.
“Hey, I’m from America - 250 years ago, we were way bigger than 6-1 dogs and look at us thriving now,” he said.
“To all the current, former and future military service members, thank you so much. Thank you to the first responders ... you guys have no idea how grateful I am and for as long as i’m able to, I will use my name to support you guys.
“All glory to God - I prayed for this opportunity to do something legendary and I know that was legendary, because I can’t even believe it.
“I’m the most exciting guy that’s ever been in this cage. I’ve watched UFC since day one, I’m a huge fan ... and I’m unmatched, I’m telling you.”

Gaethje completes enormous upset
OH MY GOODNESS!!!
Justin Gaethje is the new UFC lightweight champion. Ilia Topuria’s corner called it at the end of the fourth round, totally bloodied and bruised.
“One of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport,” Joe Rogan said.

Topuria survives another round
Ilia Topuria is completely bloodied and bruised and the doctor tries to wave it off before the third round, but referee Marc Goddard lets it continue.
“This is crazy - they need to keep fighting,” Daniel Cormier said on commentary.
Justin Gaethje drags the champion to the ground but Topuria scrambles out of it.
“What an absolute war,” Jon Anik said.
Topuria show true fighting spirit and continues to dig deep into his arsenal to keep the fight alive, while Gaethje keeps landing uppercuts.
The champ takes the fight to the ground and gets on top of Gaethje, but he manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Gaethje drops Topuria in title fight epic
Justin Gaethe has dropped Ilia Topuria in the middle of the third round.
Loud chants of “USA” erupt on the White House lawn as the American chases the win and Topuria is completely bloodied up.
“His face is battered ... Topuria has not been in these wars and Gaethje has been in them constantly,” Daniel Cormier said on commentary.
Gaethje lands several more good right hands that stun the champion and force him into a backwards position.
“We have never seen the champion look like this,” Cormier said.
Amazing round from the challenger.
Gaethje hurt bad in second round
Gaethje faints a jumping knee and then lands a right hand, but Topuria brushes it off pretty quickly and keeps coming forward.
The champ lands a quick flurry including a vicious body shot and Gaethje is hurt.
The challenger finds himself in a world of pain up against the fence and gets dropped with a brutal liver shot.
Topuria gets on top of Gaethje to apply more pressure and attempts to lock in an armbar, but the American scrambles out of it.
Gaethje survives the second round, but he took plenty of punishment.
“This fight is incredible,” Joe Rogan said on commentary.
Crazy opening round!
Topuria and Gaethje touch gloves before the opening bell, despite rising tensions and personal issues leading into the fight.
The challenger lands a stiff jab in the opening exchanges before grappling with Topuria and throwing an uppercut, but it barely fazes the champ.
“Off to an outstanding start,” Jon Anik said on commentary.
Topuria is bloodied up above his right eye, but it’s not really bothering him.
Gaethje scores with a couple of nice right hands and he’s looking really good.
“Huge opening round from the challenger,” Joe Rogan said.
A crazy final minute of the round sees both men trade massive punches and it’s a miracle neither of them ended up on the canvas.

Stage is set for blockbuster main event
If you asked a young Justin Gaethje if he could have imagined walking out from the Oval Office at the White House, he would have surely laughed at you.
Now, that’s exactly what has happened for the proud American as he looks to etch his name into the history books as an undisputed UFC champion.
Gaethje is the underdog in this fight, but that’s just the way he likes it.

On the other side, Ilia Topuria - known as “El Matador” among fans - walks out with plenty of confidence to his usual music from the movie “Desperado”.
He’s arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet today and if he can produce another knockout win on the biggest stage, the doubt may be gone.
“He walks out here with a confidence that is unmatched by anyone and how can you not be? He’s put together the best three-fight run in UFC history after what he did to Volkanovski, Holloway and Oliveira,” Daniel Cormier said on commentary.
Joe Rogan described it as “a true honour” to watch Topuria compete.

White House main event up next
All eyes now turn to the White House main event between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje for the UFC lightweight championship.
Topuria is undefeated through 17 fights and has been on an absolute tear since joining the company six years ago, pushing himself into legendary status.
He’s already ran through Alexander Volkanovski and Charlies Oliveira in stunning fashion to capture titles at both featherweight and lightweight.
Standing in his way is a tough, experienced American opponent in Gaethje, who will no doubt have the crowd behind him in Washington.

Pereira knocked out!
Alex Pereira is dropped early in the second round after a straight right hand from Ciryl Gane and he’s hurt bad!
He manages to survive and scramble, but Gane continues to pile on the pressure and eventually the referee has to step in and save Pereira.
“Herb Dean didn’t want to stop it,” Daniel Cormier said on commentary.
Pereira copped an absolute hammering and is bloodied after the fight.
“He was on wobbly legs for a long time ... perfect stoppage,” Joe Rogan said.
Pereira was attempting to become the first UFC fighter in history to capture gold in three weight divisions, but the step up was too big an ask for him today.
Gane’s victory makes it six knockout or TKO wins in as many fights.
