Penrith combat sport superstar Tyson Pedro's heroic act for stricken cyclist

Thankfully, Tyson Pedro is not squeamish around a little bit of blood.
The Australian UFC star turned pro boxer was out for a training run along Penrith's Nepean River on Friday morning when he heard a crash behind him.
The scene he discovered was frightening.

"I turned around and he had come off his bike head first and slid for a couple of metres," Pedro told Wide World of Sports.
"He was just laying flat, wasn't moving, poor dude. It looked like he had a seizure and hit his head and he was out cold. It wasn't too scary for me.
"I think it was more scary for him."

Pedro said the man's "whole body was locked up" and it appeared he was having a seizure.
He rolled the cyclist onto his side and assessed the situation.
"Opening his mouth to try to get him to breathe because he wasn't breathing at first - he was all locked up," Pedro said.

"His eyes were just rolled in the back of his head. So we (Pedro and a second man) called the ambulance and waited with him. He came back to it.
"He was probably out for around three and a bit minutes and the ambulance took about 25 to get there. Lots of blood which I'm not too worried about it but you don't like seeing random people's blood."
Pedro said the man was dazed and confused and couldn't remember his name or address at first but the paramedics did a terrific job.
"He started going back in and out of consciousness before the ambulance got there. When we first got to him, I think his mouth was stuck shut because of his helmet. It was jammed up.
"That's why he couldn't breath and it was all locked under his neck."
Pedro later checked in on the man in hospital.

He also hopes he will be well enough to accept free tickets for his professional boxing debut against Kris Terzievski at Penrith Leagues Club on Wednesday as the main event on Stan Sport's Uncaged card.
"Let him see how to put people to sleep rather than putting yourself to sleep."
