'It wouldn't buy three cartons of drink you idiot': Paul Gallen responds to claim he charges mates for his BBQs

Forget about charging his mates $10 to attend his barbecues.
Paul Gallen says the entry fee for festivities will now be at least $50 after he beats Sonny Bill Williams in the ring in Sydney on July 16.
As well as accusing Gallen of dodging drug testers at his press conference last month, Williams claimed the ex-Sharks star charged teammates "$10 a head to come to a barbecue at his house."

The story has since grown legs and the charge was put to Gallen by former Cronulla teammate Beau Ryan on Triple M on Thursday.
"That's not something I need to answer," Gallen said.
"I mean, honestly, I've never had a barbecue at my house for starters. I've never had a barbecue. I've had boys back for a drink on a Mad Monday, which you were there, and then Christmas.

"The only reason I remember that Christmas drinks is the young boys got in a blue afterwards. And you guys have been there. Did I charge you to come to my house?"
Ryan responded: "No, you didn't."
Gallen then went on to crunch the numbers if he were to host a victory party at his pad.

"I won't be charging 10 bucks. If I'm charging football players to come to my house, it's $50 minimum," he said.
"Do you know how much food and alcohol you drink? That's the thing. 10 bucks, you let 20 blokes in my house, charging 10 bucks, that's $200. Sonny, what the hell is $200 going to do for 20 football players?
"It wouldn't buy three cartons of drink you idiot. Like, honestly, put a figure in that's realistic."
Australian bookmakers have installed Williams as a slight favourite.
Gallen boasts the superior boxing pedigree, having fought the likes of genuine heavyweight contender Justis Huni and KO'd former world title holder Lucas Browne, alongside victories over fellow NRL stars including John Hopoate, Justin Hodges and Darcy Lussick.
But Williams is four years younger at 39 and boasts a massive height and reach advantage.
"Imagine if this 'little man' beats him," Gallen said.
"He's said it himself - he's a better boxer, he's bigger, he's faster, he's stronger - this came out of his own mouth.
"So imagine I beat him, how embarrassing for him!"
