'A true trailblazer': Tributes flowing after Aussie wrestler's death at 32
Tributes are flowing after much-loved professional Australian wrestler Broderick Shepherd died in Mexico. He was only 32.
The Melbourne-born Shepherd was best known for competing in Mexico's Lucha Libra AAA promotion under the ring name "Australian Suicide".
He held the Lucha Libra cruiserweight title and made a name for himself as a greatly entertaining wrestler with high-risk moves, outrageous outfits and priceless song choices.

Shepherd also took his talents to the United States' All Elite Wrestling promotion.
"Ryan Rollins" was another ring name he competed under at other promotions.
Shepherd is survived by his partner Vanilla Vargas, a professional wrestler from Puerto Rico, and the couple's young daughter.

Vargas is raising funds in a bid to have Shepherd's body sent back to Australia.
"With great sorrow, I want to share that my daughter's father has passed away unexpectedly," Vargas posted on social media.
"... Our top priority at this time is to fulfill his wish to rest in his country with his family."
Professional Australian wrestler Josh Fikret, who goes by the ring name "JXT The Jaystick", shared an emotional tribute.
"I still can't believe this is real," he posted to social media.
"Brods, you always made everyone around you smile. Lifting the mood with constant jokes and you were always caring of others. Always helping anyone you could, and deserved all the success in the world.
"A true trailblazer. To make it in Mexico as an Australian living there as a professional wrestler is astonishing. A testament to your talent and hard work.
"Rest easy, brother. We'll all miss you."

Superstar Australian wrestler Rhea Ripley, signed to WWE, posted "RIP" to Instagram with the prayer and broken heart emojis.
Melbourne City Wrestling, where Shepherd competed early in his career, also posted a heartfelt message.
"We fondly remember his time in MCW and Australia, where he brought joy to every show with his infectious energy, unforgettable outfits and song choices," the social media post said.
"His willingness to entertain never failed to put a smile on our faces.
"... We will cherish the memories and moments he left behind and remember him every time 'Bad Romance' [by Lady Gaga] plays."
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
