President 'outraged' as heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk detained in Poland over 'misunderstanding'
Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was detained by uniformed officers in Poland after what he called a "misunderstanding".
Days before he is due to travel to London to watch the Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua fight, vision emerged online of the Ukrainian boxer being led away at Krakow airport with his hands behind his back.
Taking to social media, the heavyweight champion, 37, confirmed the incident was cleared up in quick fashion.

"Dear friends. A misunderstanding took place. It was quickly resolved. Thanks to all who got concerned," he posted on X.
"Thanks to Ukrainian diplomats for the efficient support. And respect to Polish police for conducting their obligations with no regards to height, weight, reach and regalia. Thanks God for everything."
However, president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said he was "ouraged" by the incident.
"Talked on the phone with Oleksandr Usyk when he was detained," the leader posted.
"I was outraged by this attitude towards our citizen and champion. He instructed the minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiza and the minister of internal affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko to immediately find out all the details of the incident at the Krakow airport.

"As soon as I was informed that everything is fine, our champion was released and no one is detaining him anymore."
Usyk's wife, Kate, posted to Instagram to assure the boxer's fans he is doing well.
"Everything is OK, everything is fine!!! Alexander will explain everything later!!! nothing to be criminal ... Good night to you all!!!"
Usyk is set to face Tyson Fury once again on December 21 after defeating him earlier this year to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
